Digital Gift Card Terms
U.S. Digital Gift Card Terms & Conditions
(For The Official U.S. Shop of the PWHL)
Effective Date: November 18, 2025
1. Overview
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the purchase, use, and redemption of digital gift cards (“Digital Gift Cards” or “Cards”) issued by The Official U.S. Shop of the PWHL (“we”, “our”, or “us”). Digital Gift Cards may be purchased via the Shopify Payments platform and paid for using a valid Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or Diner’s Club card, or other payment methods we may support, such as accelerated checkout options which may include Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, PayPal, and Venmo.
2. Delivery & Redemption
Digital Gift Cards are delivered by email after payment is processed. The purchaser is responsible for providing a valid recipient email address. We are not responsible for failed or misdirected delivery caused by incorrect email information.
Digital Gift Cards are redeemable online only at the Official U.S. Shop of the PWHL. They cannot be used at physical events or stores. Multiple Cards may be used in a single transaction. Digital Gift Cards may be combined with other forms of payment at checkout. Cards cannot be reloaded and are not redeemable for cash, except where required by law.
3. Denomination
Digital Gift Cards purchased from The Official U.S. Shop of the PWHL are denominated in U.S. dollars.
4. Purchase Limit
The maximum Card value is $500.
5. No Expiry or Fees
Digital Gift Cards do not expire and have no fees. Any term to the contrary is void where prohibited by law.
6. Lost, Deleted, or Misused Cards; Cards Used Without Authorization
Treat your Digital Gift Card like cash. The value of any lost, deleted, or stolen Cards, Cards used without authorization, or misused Cards will not be replaced or refunded, except as required by law. If you have proof of purchase, contact support@thepwhl.com, and we may, at our discretion and where permitted, reissue the unused balance.
To avoid gift card scams, never use a Digital Gift Card to pay a debt, and never provide your Digital Gift Card number to anyone you do not know. Government agencies, including the Internal Revenue Service, will never request payment using Digital Gift Cards. To report a suspected gift card scam, contact the Federal Trade Commission at 877-382-4357 or https://reportfraud.ftc.gov, or your state attorney general.
7. Refunds on Purchases Made with Digital Gift Cards
If an item purchased with a Digital Gift Card is returned, the refund will be applied back to the same Card. If the original Card no longer exists, a new Card may be issued for the refund amount.
8. Transferability
Digital Gift Cards may be gifted to another person but are not for resale or use in unauthorized promotions. We may cancel a Digital Gift Card and revoke any remaining balance if we suspect fraud or misuse.
9. Liability and Recordkeeping
All funds loaded onto Digital Gift Cards are held by The Official U.S. Shop of the PWHL as a liability until redeemed. We maintain records of issued Cards and remaining balances. Where required by law, unredeemed balances may be managed in accordance with applicable state unclaimed property or escheatment rules.
10. Privacy Notice
The collection, use, and disclosure of personal information in connection with Digital Gift Cards is governed by our Privacy Policy at https://shop.thepwhl.com/policies/privacy-policy. By purchasing, loading, or using a Card, you agree that we may collect, use, and disclose your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.
11. Platform Disclosure
Digital Gift Cards are issued and managed by The Official U.S. Shop of the PWHL. Shopify Inc. (“Shopify”) provides the e-commerce platform but is not a party to the issuance, redemption, or management of Digital Gift Cards.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and applicable U.S. federal law. Local consumer protection laws may provide rights that override inconsistent provisions of these Terms.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms periodically. Updates apply prospectively and do not affect previously issued Cards unless required by law.
14. Severance
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, it will be modified to the extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable. If modification is not possible, the provision will be severed, and the remainder of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.
15. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
THE OFFICIAL U.S. SHOP OF THE PWHL MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS, WARRANTIES, OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO DIGITAL GIFT CARDS, INCLUDING ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OR CONDITION OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NONE OF THE FOLLOWING (COLLECTIVELY, THE “PWHL PARTIES”): THE OFFICIAL U.S. SHOP OF THE PWHL, PWHL HOLDINGS LLC, PWHL LEAGUECO US LP (DOING BUSINESS AS THE PROFESSIONAL WOMEN’S HOCKEY LEAGUE), ANY MEMBER TEAMS, OR ANY OF THEIR AFFILIATES OR REPRESENTATIVES, SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE DIGITAL GIFT CARDS OR THESE TERMS.
IN THE EVENT THAT A DIGITAL GIFT CARD IS NON-FUNCTIONAL, YOUR SOLE REMEDY AND OUR SOLE LIABILITY SHALL BE THE REPLACEMENT OF SUCH DIGITAL GIFT CARD.
